El Elefante

The debut album by monopolice

about el elefante

Monopolice’s debut album El Elefante is out now on all streaming platforms. Crafted over two years, the band’s creative collaboration and chemistry shines through ten dynamic tracks that explore themes of isolation and emotional upheaval. With a recurring motif of water throughout the songs, monopolice embraces a fluid, evolving sound shaped by each member’s distinct style. The album title is a tribute to Mali, the elephant of Manila Zoo that died in 2023, echoing the album’s introspection into isolation. El Elefante invites listeners into a sonic journey that balances raw energy with reflective depth.

about monopolice

monopolice is an alternative rock project founded by Filipino singer-songwriter and producer Miguel Lim (vocals),  Karl Lucente (guitars), Amiel Cortes (guitars), Jessiree Geverola (bass), and Peter Mascariñas(drums). What started as an experimental solo project of Lim and Lucente progressed into a full-fledged band, formed within the first rehearsal. Monopolice draws heavily from influences in 1990s and 2000s rock, art-rock, and indie-rock.

After releasing three singles over the course of a year, including their debut single “A Fine Day for a Swim” and the more recent “Legion”, monopolice is set to finally drop their debut album “El Elefante” on July 18, 2025, paving the way for the drop with a new single called “Hunter”.
