Formed in Cebu City, Philippines during their junior year in high school back in 2006, the experimental rock group Dymphna started marking their imprints all over varied local underground shows that spanning the local punk, hardcore, metal, hip-hop and indie scenes. They made solid stabs before they slowly chipped away towards other stages graced by local and international buffs.
Dymphna encountered several lineup changes before they hatched their debut album Megiddo back in 2015. Following the success of their genesis record, they toured different parts and regions of the country. The same year they released Megiddo, Dymphna represented the Philippines in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for Connect2Create, which was under the biannual ASEAN Summit umbrella.
The band moved to Manila a year later, where they were able to venture to new heights, carve out different lanes, and rub elbows with personal heroes and new peers, before most members eventually decided to come home to the Queen City.
Dymphna will be re-releasing Megiddo to commemorate its 10th year anniversary in 2025 and might have another rabbit in the hat later this year.
