LARA

LARA is a shoegaze band from the south of Metro Manila. The band was formed in June of 2017 consisting of founding members Jed, Paul, Jezree and Bruce who were schoolmates in a local high school in Taguig City. The band experienced its share of lineup changes throughout the years and presently consists of founding members Jed, Paul, and Bruce, along with recent additions Lance, Bren, and Kurt. The band’s music is heavily influenced by a variety of styles from shoegaze & dream pop to post-rock and post-metal, with their own signature sound driven by reverb and heavy dirt tones reminiscent of artists such as Deftones, Loathe, Turnover, and Title Fight. On the other hand, their lyricism revolves around love, existentialism, and pain.

Since their inception, they have played many notable shows, including twice as an opener for Japanese shoegaze band Mass of the Fermenting Dregs during their Manila tour. After independently released their first full-length album “Disambiguate” in January 2025, LARA wasted no time in kicking off a new album campaign and are currently in the early stages of writing for their sophomore record, their first effort to be released after recently signing with independent label Melt Records.
