Francis Cang released a new single, “Crash Test‘ – an experiment in math rock structures with jazzy rhythms – on March 3, 2026.

CAGAYAN DE ORO, Philippines — Guitar-driven instrumentalist Francis Cang returns with “Crash Test,” a bold new single arriving on March 3, 2026. Known for his technically charged yet evocative guitar work, Cang explores off-kilter rhythms, dynamic shifts, and tightly woven melodic lines, expanding on the guitar-forward sound that has become a defining characteristic of his catalog.

“Crash Test” marks the first in a string of planned releases from Cang this year, signaling a prolific new chapter for the guitarist-composer.

The single also represents a personal creative breakthrough — “Crash Test” is Cang’s attempt at writing a math & progressive rock tune with jazzy drums, an idea he had long wanted to pursue but had never committed to finishing. Toward the end of 2025, he finally completed the track as a way to break out of a cycle of musical burnout, setting a new tone for his work in 2026.

The release follows a period of renewed activity for Cang beyond the studio. He recently held a guitar workshop in Dumaguete City alongside Rocky Gapol, connecting directly with aspiring musicians and sharing insights on technique, tone, and composition. More workshops are planned throughout the Philippines this year, further solidifying his role not only as a recording artist but also as an active contributor to the local music community.

The single’s visual identity was developed with art direction by Inodoro™, who also collaborated on Cang’s “obsolete trilogy” released at the height of the pandemic. Cang also extends special thanks to Sofia de Austria, Rez Apego, and Francis Camomot for their support in bringing the project to life.

“Crash Test” will be available on all major streaming platforms on March 3, 2026.
