CEBU CITY, Philippines — Alternative rock band monopolice has just released their latest single “Hunter” on July 4. The new single is now available on all major streaming platforms and for digital download on Bandcamp.
Inspired by a love story, the track channels the emotional tension and intensity of alternative heavyweights like Muse and Deftones. “Hunter” showcases the growth of monopolice as songwriters following their earlier singles.

“We hit as hard as we can and as straightforward as we can with ‘Hunter’,” shared vocalist and primary songwriter Miguel Granada. Compared to previous releases, Granada considers “Hunter” their “most vocally demanding track” and one that took a significant effort production-wise even for a band already known to pay meticulous attention to the nuances of their music.
“I had to re-cut the vocals probably over twenty times to get it to a level we were happy with,” Granada added. “Everything on this song has its specific color of distortion in it, and every bit is carefully calculated to give it the scary precision one imagines a hunter-predator exerts.”
The release of “Hunter” sets the stage for the band’s long-anticipated debut album El Elefante, which is set to drop on July 18. In addition to “Hunter”, the album also includes the band’s previously released singles such as their debut track “A Fine Day For A Swim” and the more recent releases “Perfume” and “Legion”.
Fans will also be treated to six brand new tracks as part of the collection. “If you appreciate the many sounds and styles we put into our tracks so far, there’s more yet to discover in the rest of the album,” Granada promises.
