Irrevocable drops music video for new track “Email”

Emo band Irrevocable just dropped their latest single, “Email”, with an accompanying music video.

MANILA, Philippines — Manila band Irrevocable just released a surprise new single called “Email” with a music video premiered on July 22 with streaming and Bandcamp release following shortly on July 23.

“Email” is the band’s first release since their 2023 EP Generational Curses which was both critically acclaimed and widely loved by the band’s audiences. The song’s theme revolves around jadedness, with references to the corporate rat race and dead end job hunts but equally relatable to anyone caught in repetitive cycles anywhere in their lives.

The music video for the track, co-directed by Gibson Santiago and the band themselves, lives up to Irrevocable’s reputation for being able to find silliness and poke fun at themselves even while tackling serious social themes. On its premiere day, the music video already racked up nearly 20,000 views on various platforms.

Compared to the Generational Curses EP, “Email” adopts a more aggressive pace, with the full track barely two minutes long. “Where is Home LP had short songs and Generational Curses EP had longer songs,” said guitarist Tani Cariño. “We decided to go back to shorter songs for this record.”

The new release also introduces Jom Grana and Edzcel Neria, who recently joined the band as the latest official members. “This is the first record with this new lineup,” added Cariño. “We just let the new guys do their thing and not be bound to what the old lineup did.”

“It’s a mix of old methods with newer input but the influences are still the same.”

“Email” is the first of two connected singles, with the next one called “Not Much to Miss Out” also set to feature a sequel music video. The release date for the next single is to be announced soon.

This marks a new phase for Irrevocable as they’re set to release a new record within the year which will be available in both digital and physical formats with distribution in the Philippines and in Japan.

“Email” is now available to stream on all major streaming platforms.
