CAGAYAN DE ORO, Philippines — After more than a year of silence, indie band KRNA makes their long-awaited return with a new single, “Past Love,” out October 15, 2025, exclusively on Bandcamp. The track marks the band’s first release since their 2024 single “I’m Wrong,” which earned a spot on Billboard Philippines’ Best 50 Songs of 2024, cementing their place among the country’s rising indie acts.

“Past Love” offers a more delicate and wistful side of KRNA’s evolving sound. Listeners will find themselves in familiar dream-pop territory—lush, gentle, and emotionally resonant—but this time with a touch of nostalgia and vulnerability. Fans can download the track directly on Bandcamp and pay what they want, a move that reflects the band’s independent and community-driven ethos.

“This is actually one of the earlier songs we wrote for the album, and we recorded and finished it way back in 2020,” the band shares. “We did everything DIY (except for the drums), and it features our previous lineup. We do have a new version that will be part of our upcoming album, but this one remains special to us. It captured that innocent charm and raw energy from when we first wrote it, mistakes and all.”

Though recorded years ago, “Past Love” feels timeless—an intimate snapshot of the band’s early chemistry. Its story is one of emotional honesty: that quiet, uncertain moment when love and memory briefly intersect. “Past Love is about that fleeting, almost surreal moment when you’re with someone you love and they unexpectedly bump into a person from their past,” the band explains. “For a few seconds, your mind runs wild and you’re wondering what your partner might be feeling, before you realize it’s all part of life. They’ve lived a whole other story before you, and that’s okay.”

Musically, the single is softer and airier than some of KRNA’s previous work. With shimmering guitars and airy vocals, it leans toward the lighter side of the band’s sound palette. “This one feels a bit lighter, more on the indie/dream pop side and carries a kind of youthful, wistful sweetness,” they add. “It’s softer, more literal and whimsical compared to our other tracks.”

As the band prepares for their next full-length release, “Past Love” serves as both a look back and a gentle promise of what’s to come. It’s a bridge between eras for KRNA – a nod to their past lineup and a taste of their evolving artistry.

“Past Love” will be available for download on Bandcamp starting October 15, 2025, 7:00 PM (PHT). Fans are encouraged to support the band directly through the platform and revisit the warmth and sincerity that made KRNA one of the most captivating acts to emerge from the Mindanao indie scene.
