Obsolete.‘s first single Ashes is out now for digital downloads via Bandcamp and for streaming on all your favorite digital music platforms including Spotify and Apple Music. The single is the first of a trilogy of releases for Obsolete. with two more scheduled for December and January.
“I was finishing up a cigarette and I noticed how the ashes from the tip flaked off and started swirling in the wind,” Cang says about the track. “It’s meant to describe inner turmoil, from slow building anxiety to full blown skepticism.” The single (and trilogy) features artwork by PJ Ong (Inodoro™️), who describes it as “meant to be a far cry from the usual post-rock imagery, it is a poetic expression that makes use of grainy, rough and blurry manipulations, taking inspiration from the character of the music.”
Obsolete. is the latest music project by Francis Cang, who hails from Cagayan de Oro City. Can’t wait to hear more? The second single Thin Air is slated for a December 11th release, so stay tuned for it!
