Peregrine has announced the release of their latest single titled “Gubble Bum”, an upbeat tune with catchy lyrics and melody that make it a perfect addition to any playlist. The track will be available on popular streaming platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, and Bandcamp starting from February 24th.
“Gubble Bum started out as just a riff that we wrote together,” explains guitarist-vocalist Janssen Bailio, who penned the majority of the track. “Then somewhere along the process of thinking of what the song was about, I was observant with regards to a certain relationship between two people who had a falling out.”
The band considers the song an accidental sequel to their well-loved single French Toast where initially it was “giving it all to you, giving it all to me” as a way of saying not to give up on a relationship with haste. “This time, Gubble Bum is sort of the ‘the end of the road’ for that relationship. It started out sweet, like bubble gum, but soon lost its flavor.”
The band admits that the writing process for this song was the most challenging for them yet, to the point of almost being scrapped, but they pushed through with it and their listeners are none the more fortunate. “We hope our listeners enjoy it as much as we did,” the band adds.
