After the damage left by the super typhoon #Odette, Melt Records partners with John Bottles Events and has continued to gather funds and deliver drinking water to rural and hard-to-reach communities throughout Metro Cebu using bicycles, motorcycles, and cars.
“While we have personally come out of this typhoon unharmed and with more than enough of our necessities, many more others in the badly-hit regions are still in dire need,” according to Dexter Sy, cofounder of Melt Records. “Christmas has already passed and it’s high time to do even more to help those who are in bad shape after the storm.”
Our initial fund had been enough to serve roughly 200 households but as of 3PM, December 28, we already raised a total of P25,750 – enough to do our first procurement and distribution. We are so thankful for all of you who donated!
Starting Thursday, December 30, our partners from John Bottles Events will deliver at least 2,088 500ml bottles of water to the coastal barangays of Ibo, Marigondon, and Basak in Lapu-lapu City.
At this time, we also still need leads for suppliers of drinking water in order to buy additional bottles, as well as more volunteer cyclists and car owners eager to assist us in being able to deliver more. If anyone is willing to help and is available in the next few weeks, contact John Bottles Events or send us a message through our social media @meltrecordsph!
We currently have enough funds to get started, but more contributions would be much appreciated. Details on how to give may be found on our facebook page and this link (or the images below).
Thank you so much to everyone who contributed so far! Our transparency sheet may be seen at https://melt.click/OdetteFundTransparency. Follow our Facebook page to get daily updates on the Bottles Brigade campaign.
