After her recent single Fall Out, Chelsea Dawn is back with a heartwarming holiday single. Just Us This Christmas is about spending the holidays with the ones that mean the most to Chelsea : her cat and dog. According to the Dumaguete-based singer-songwriter, she was inspired to create this song by her cat, Una, and dog, Kofi. Through the track, she wanted to convey the message that the holiday season can be fun even if you are not with your family.

The idea came to her as she was sitting in her bedroom thinking about how she wanted to spend Christmas this year and was inspired by the thought of how wonderful it would be to spend it with her pets. She sings about all the good things they could do together and how cozy and fun it would be. One can easily feel Chelsea‘s love for her pets in each line.

Taking inspiration from Michael Bublé, Chelsea added a touch of jazz to her tune, bringing the joys of the season into her music. In comparison to the other tracks she has released in recent months, this is the most festive record she has done which she really had a good-time creating. The album art for this track likewise has a festive feel to it, with a charming doodle of Chelsea and pets surrounded by Christmas lights on both sides. According to Chelsea, the change from the usual ambient rock to a more jazzy track was difficult for her, but the single still ended up sounding natural and authentically good.

To all fur parents out there, this song is for you and for your pets!
